The People's March for Peace, Equality, Jobs & Justice

12 Noon to 4:00 PM

(in conjunction with the anniversary of the historic 1963 March on Washington at which Dr. King delivered his "I have a dream" speech)

CFPA-Coordinated Transportation to Newark on August 25th!!

Members and supporters of the Coalition for Peace Action (CFPA) are organizing transportation to Newark from three areas as indicated below. If you are coming from elsewhere, click on the link below to coordinate transportation: http://www.peaceandjusticecoalition.org/transportation.html


Peace and Justice Train from Trenton & Princeton

There will be a Peace and Justice Train (Northeast Corridor Line) that leaves  Trenton at 10:08 AM; the Princeton Shuttle (Dinky) Station on University Place in Princeton at 10:10 AM; Princeton Junction at 10:20 AM; and is scheduled to arrive in Newark Penn Station at 11:12 AM.  There are other stops as well, please visit http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/rail/r0070.pdf  for a full schedule). When you board the train, please walk to the cabin as far forward as possible to join other Peace and Justice Train riders from CFPA! Once in Newark, Peace and Justice Train riders will join a one mile feeder march to Lincoln Park , and we'll arrive at Lincoln Park in plenty of time for the noon rally.

The March organizers hope to have cars or vans at the train station for those for whom that walk would be difficult. There are also usually plenty of taxis in front of Penn Station, as well as public buses that go to Lincoln Park.


Buses from Camden/Cherry Hill

If you are coming from South Jersey (Camden/Cherry Hill area), a bus is being coordinated by CFPA's affiliate, the South Jersey Campaign for Peace and Justice.

$20/person ( or what you can afford) $15/students

Buses leaving from 2 locations:

1st: Parking lot at Cathedral in Camden - Please Be there at 9 AM ; the bus will leave no later than 9:20 AM (corner of Broadway & Market ; enter lot off Federal St. or walk 1 block north from Patco/Transportation Center.)

2nd: PATCO Ferry Ave. Station - Please be there by 9:15 AM ; the bus will leave promptly at 9:30 AM. Buses will return at 7PM


Carpool from Monroe Township

CFPA's Monroe Township Chapter will be carpooling directly from their weekly Vigil at the corner of Prospect Plains (CR 614) and Perrineville Road.

So far, they have two cars going, but can hopefully arrange more if there is enough interest! So please also indicate if you can offer to drive! Join CFPA Upon Arrival in Newark! Whether you come by one of the means above, or go to Newark on your own, upon arrival at Lincoln Park please look for the CFPA banner (blue background with white lettering) and March with the CFPA contingent in this important event!
