Mel Duncan is Executive Director of Nonviolent Peaceforce. Based in Minneapolis, this 5-year-old global citizens’ movement is training and sending to conflict zones around the world unarmed international teams of mediators and bridge-builders who help groups in conflict situations find alternatives to violent conflict. Come and hear of the Peaceforce’s work in Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Uganda, and other places and hear the exciting news of its new links for funding with the UN. For more information, see http://www.nvpf.org.

The Rev. Bob Moore is Executive Director of the Coalition for Peace Action. This visit to Eastern Montgomery County is a first for Rev. Bob Moore, who oversees the work of CFPA’s 16 chapters in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Now in his 27th year heading the organization, Rev. Moore will discuss with us what plans for the 2008 elections, and CFPA’s 10-year history of  running “Peace Voter” campaigns. He will discuss possible strategies for Pennsylvania's 6th District.
