Dear Impeach friends,
Thursday, May 1 is the fifth anniversary of "Mission Accomplished" - the day George Bush stood on an aircraft carrier declaring major combat operations over in Iraq. Five years later, the costs of war keep mounting and there's still no end in sight.
Let's join True Majority.org in their May 1st delivery to our local Congressional Reps - Joe Sestak and Jim Gerlach - of "A Responsible Plan to End the War in Iraq." This plan was put together recently by a group of Congressional leaders. Read the plan at www.responsibleplan.com.
Please join me to deliver a copy of the Responsible Plan to End the War to our Congresspersons. Just show up at one of the following offices to join in the delivery:
Gerlach: 111 E Uwchlan Ave, Exton, PA at 10:30 a.m.
Sestak: 600 N. Jackson St., Media, PA at noon
In 1994, the Republicans came up with a Contract with America that they worked to implement as soon as they were sworn in. This time around, it will be up to us to make sure that whoever is elected to Congress move briskly to enact the Responsible Plan to End the War in Iraq and bring our troops home.
Also, Bryn Mawr Peace Coalition has invited us to join them in a "Mission Accomplished Anniversary" vigil this Thursday from 5-6 PM, at the intersection of Bryn Mawr and Lancaster Avenues. In the interests of conserving energy, let's cancel the Saturday Honk to Impeach this Saturday and join their vigil.
There will be a meeting after the 5-6 PM vigil in Ludington Library
(same intersection as vigil), 6-7 PM, to talk about the future of our Honk to Impeach. Please come!
