Unitarian Universalist Church in Cherry Hill, 401 North Kings Highway, Cherry Hill
Guests attending the potluck dinner are asked to bring a covered dish to share at 6:00 p.m. before the film.
The Road to Guantanamo chronicles the first-hand account of three young men, British nationals of Muslim faith, who were held for two years without charges in the American military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Known as the “Tipton Three,” in reference to their hometown in Britain, the men were eventually returned to Britain and released. Part documentary, part dramatization, the film chronicles the sequence of events that led the men from Tipton in the British Midlands, to a wedding in Pakistan, to their crossing the Afghanistan border just as the US began its bombing campaign, their capture by the Northern Alliance and their ultimate imprisonment.
The potluck dinner and movie screening are free and open to the public. Come out and enjoy the dinner, the movie, the discussion, or all three!!!
