Rabbi Roth and CFPA board members Rev. Krass and Imam Ali were among a group of about 20 clergy members and human rights activists who traveled to the Middle East this spring, from late March through April 1, as the Delaware Valley Interfaith Compassionate Listening Delegation. The group traveled to the West Bank, Hebron and Israel, and interviewed Palestinians and Israelis about their perspectives on the conflict.
"I think it's cutting edge, and I think it's the only thing that's going to lead us to peace - people listening to one another with open hearts," Rabbi Roth told the NJ Jewish News before the trip.
(The above is based on an article in the NJ Jewish News.)
Peacebuilding/exploratory trips to the Middle East have become more prevalent in recent years, with a variety of delegations from the Delaware Valley and across the country traveling to this war-torn land and talking to residents.
