Presented by the Million Mom March:
Each year since our original march on Washington, DC, on Mother’s Day of 2000, the Mercer County Million Mom March Chapter of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence has commemorated the anniversary with an event which we call “United Against Gun Violence.”
We bring together not only gun violence prevention groups, but law enforcement, the religious community, educational and medical professionals, local, county, state and federal officials, victims’ rights advocates, our youth, and victims/survivors of these needless gun tragedies. The evening is rounded out with entertainment, activities for the kids, and free refreshments.
The public is invited to bring pictures/poems for our Wall of Remembrance and also to come to the podium to ring a bell and remember any loved one they have lost to gun violence. We conclude with a candle lighting ceremony.
