Peace Pilgrim Centennial
Peace Pilgrim's 100th Birthday will be observed with a series of events from July 18-20, 2008 in Egg Harbor City, NJ. Egg Harbor is the birthplace of the steadfast and inspirational Peace Pilgrim, born Mildred Norman, who began her peace activism in the '50s.

The Peace Pilgrim Centennial Committee presents the following Friday and Saturday events:
õFriday, July 18, 7 p.m. - Peace Pilgrim's 100th birthday. View a 60-minute documentary about Peace Pilgrim, hear speakers from the Friends of Peace Pilgrim organization and participate in a Q&A with Peace's sister Helene Young at the Charles L. Spragg School Multi-purpose Room, 601 Buffalo Ave. in Egg Harbor City.
õSaturday, July 19, 9 a.m. - Participate in the Peace Pilgrim 100, a two-mile intergenerational walk for peace. For more information, contact Norm Cohen at (609) 601-8537.
õSaturday, July 19, 5-8 p.m. - Join a family-styled, covered dish picnic at Peace Pilgrim Park, 500-block London Ave., Egg Harbor City, NJ, hosted by Egg Harbor City Harbormaster Lloyd Wimberg.

õSunday, July 20 - 10 a.m. - The Unitarian and Quaker congregations will hold a joint worship service at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the South Jersey Shore in Galloway Township. Friends of Peace Pilgrim Cheryl Canfield and Bruce Nicholas will speak about Peace Pilgrim. The public is invited to attend this service. For more information call Barbara Miller at (609) 628-3440.
