THE INAUGURATION!

At the request of numerous CFPA members and supporters, CFPA has reserved six buses to take supporters from the Princeton area to Washington D.C. for the inauguration of Barack Obama on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. Since we need to pay in full for these buses by mid-December, we also must require that those who intend to go reserve a seat using the e-commerce link below by Wednesday, December 17, 2008! This deadline is firm.
CFPA’s South Jersey affiliate, the Coalition for Peace and Justice, has also reserved two buses to go to Washington, DC, one of which will leave from Cherry Hill and the other from Atlantic City. Seats on those buses should be reserved through Norm Cohen at ncohen12@comcast.net or (609) 601-8537. Our Lansdowne, PA office also has a bus going from there, contact David Gibson at
dgibson@peacecoalition.org or (610) 623-3724.
We expect those who come with us will either stand along the parade route; which thanks to a court ruling will be largely open to the public, or on the National Mall where there will be large screen broadcasts of the proceedings. Millions of people are expected for joyous landmark event!
It is doubtful that we will be able to get seats and so we may be standing for the day. We want to lay out the above clearly, so those who do reserve know what they are likely to experience. CFPA has no control over access to the inauguration proceedings. So all CFPA can promise to provide is round trip bus with Metro transportation, great spirit, and comradery.
Please note, everything is subject to change as more information becomes available. A final confirmation email (or postal letter, for those without email) with final details will be sent to those with paid reservations.
Since very large crowds are expected, we are recommending that those riding the CFPA buses bring a brown bag lunch and a bag supper for the way back. Those who try to purchase food in DC or on the bus trip back are likely to have very long waits.
