The winner of the 2008 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature
will be shown in the Assembly Room at Nassau Presbyterian Church.

The movie focuses on an innocent taxi driver in Afghanistan who was tortured and then killed in 2002. The film looks at the torture practices of the United States in Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo Bay, including its rejection of the Geneva Conventions. The 1 hour and 40 minute film, released in June 2008, was directed by Alex Gibney, and produced in the UK.

The Princeton Area Anti-Torture Advocacy Group works closely with the National Religious Campaign Against Torture (NRCAT), a campaign of over 175 religious organizations working together to abolish U. S. sponsored torture.  NRCAT,  in alliance with Evangelicals for Human Rights and the Center for Crimes of Torture, has launched an effort that calls upon the newly elected President of the United States to issue an Executive Order ending torture as an American policy in the opening week of the new administration.
