Dear Coalition for Peace Action (CFPA) Contact,

I’m writing to request your 2013 annual membership contribution to support the work of the Coalition for Peace Action (CFPA) as we start a new year.

CFPA asks all members to renew, and others to join, early each year. Receiving membership dues early in the year greatly helps with our budgeting and cash flow. So please renew or join NOW by clicking here.

We face great challenges in this New Year. Perhaps most urgently, we need to strengthen our Ceasefire NJ Project to build support for sensible gun regulations to prevent future massacres like the one in Newtown, CT. President Obama has committed to take leadership, and we need major resources to organize effectively in support of that to make our children and communities safe from such horrors.

We will continue to strongly advocate for significant cuts in Pentagon spending, rather than cutting important human needs at home such as job creation, education, environment, etc. Our Peace Economy Campaign remains extremely urgent, as major financial priorities for the federal budget will be made between now and late March!

We need to continue, and even intensify, our Diplomacy, Not War in Iran Campaign. We may well face a growing drumbeat for preemptive war with Iran in the late spring or early summer, if it continues to enrich uranium at the current rate.

To meet the above challenges, we need to expand and intensify our efforts, especially in the critical first half of 2013. Therefore, I strongly encourage you not just to renew your membership, but to increase your support by becoming a monthly or quarterly pledger.

Pledging is easy and fairly painless—and an efficient and effective way to substantially increase your support for the work of CFPA. Click here and use the second option make your monthly or quarterly pledge charged to your Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover Card. If you later need to adjust or discontinue your pledge, just contact our office.

However, if you simply can’t become a pledger, click here and use the first option to contribute your annual membership NOW. CFPA’s suggested annual membership contribution continues at $40 for an individual and $70 for a household. There are also sliding scale options, below these suggested dues. We don’t want anyone to not be a member if you can’t afford the suggested dues!

Pledges, donations and paid memberships give us the finances and political clout to make a real difference for peace. In numerous contacts with elected representatives, candidates, and the press over the past three decades, I’ve frequently been asked how many paid members we have. It is a key measure of our collective credibility and clout.

Your pledge or membership offers unique benefits. You’ll be sent Coalition Update, our periodic newsletter, have the opportunity to register for member-only events like the Annual Membership Dinner, and be eligible for substantial member discounts for CFPA events like the Annual Conference and Interfaith Service for Peace, and Concerts for Peace.

In addition to making your pledge or membership contribution, I also encourage you to use the option of making a designated donation of $10 toward the work of National Peace Action, the largest peace group in the US. CFPA is affiliated because we recognize that both grassroots and national peace efforts need to be strong so we can gain maximum synergy to make progress for peace.

If you live a distance from Princeton, I encourage you to become involved in one of our 21 chapter affiliates in the region. Click here to find out how to contact the appropriate chapter coordinator(s) directly.

In this new year, we can build on our successes and make significant strides toward peace—but only if we each do our part. Please click here to make your annual commitment to peace with your 2013 pledge or membership NOW!
Sincerely,

The Rev. Robert Moore
