Dear Supporter,

I'm writing to request your 2019 annual membership contribution to support the urgent and very challenging work of the Coalition for Peace Action (CFPA).

CFPA asks all members to renew, and others to join, early each year. Receiving membership dues early in the year greatly helps with our budgeting and cash flow. So please renew NOW by clicking here.

Your membership offers unique benefits. You’ll be sent Coalition Update, our periodic newsletter, can register for member-only events like the Annual Membership Dinner, and be eligible for substantial member discounts for CFPA events like the Annual Conference and Multifaith Service.

This annual renewal notice is at the printer and will be postal mailed soon. You can save postage costs by clicking below to contribute your 2019 membership online NOW!

We face great challenges in 2019, as we are two years into the Trump era. But we also have new opportunities, as the US House has just flipped control and can use its power of the purse and of oversight to be a check on President Trump.

Mr. Trump continues to take an anti-diplomacy approach to nuclear disarmament agreements. Last year he withdrew from the Iran Nuclear Agreement, as well as from the 1987 Medium Range Nuclear Weapons Ban.

  • We need your strong support for our Campaign for Diplomacy, Not War with North Korea and Iran. South and North Korea continue to engage in successful diplomacy, which could help jump-start US diplomacy that has stalled since the Singapore Summit.
  • We also must stop a new nuclear arms race! Trump has proposed a $2 trillion US nuclear build-up, including new, more “useable” nuclear weapons as well as replacing every leg of the US nuclear arsenal.
  • In 2018, CFPA spearheaded passage of eight new gun safety laws in NJ, the most of any state! We need your support to build on that to pass even more laws in NJ (already five new ones have been introduced), as well as the Universal Background Checks Bill just introduced in the US Congress.
  • Finally, our efforts to stop the Saudi-led War in Yemen reached a major milestone last year. The US Senate voted to invoke the War Powers Act to stop US support for that war. About 14 million Yemeni civilians are on the verge of starvation, so we urgently need your support to continue this intensive effort!

To meet the above challenges and take full advantage of the new opportunities in 2019, we need to increase our financial strength by asking you to increase your financial support.

One option is a Lifetime Membership for a one-time contribution of $1,000. Over 30 members have done this since we started offering it in 2014.

You can also increase your support by becoming a monthly or quarterly pledger. Pledging is an easy, efficient, and less demanding way to substantially increase your support for the work of CFPA by spreading your donation over time.

Click here to make your monthly or quarterly pledge charged to your credit card. If you later need to adjust or discontinue your pledge, just contact our office.

However, if you simply can’t become a Lifetime member or pledger, click here to contribute your annual membership NOW!

CFPA’s suggested annual membership contribution remains $50 for an individual and $80 for a household. Click here to contribute whatever you can afford. We don’t want anyone to not be a member if they can’t afford the suggested dues.

We also encourage you to click here and scroll down to the second option to make a tax-deductible contribution over and above the membership—which would really help us address the increased challenges described on the first page.

Pledges, donations, and memberships are essential to giving us the finances and political clout to maximize our impact for peace. Already CFPA has organized delegations of world class experts and organizational leaders that met with four new US Representatives from our region. Some specifically asked about our organization size, so your renewal helps increase our impact!

Given the major opportunities in this new year, we need your help to intensify our organizing to build on our successes and meet major new challenges. We can only do this if we each do our part, responding as generously as possible.

Make your annual commitment to peace TODAY! Please click here to contribute your 2019 pledge, lifetime or regular membership.
