On October 14, CFPA co-sponsored a strong March and Rallies in Princeton as part of the Long March for Justice initiated by Lawrence Hamm, President of the Newark-based  People's Organization for Progress. Among the speakers were US Bonnie Watson Coleman, the Rev. Lukata Mjumbe of Witherspoon Street Presbyterian Church, and CFPA Executive Director Rev. Bob Moore. “We are walking from Montclair to Trenton to highlight the issue of police brutality and to demand the NJ Legislature pass legislation to hold police accountable. First and foremost, we demand passage of A4656/S2963, the police review boards of civilians, with subpoena power bill,” Hamm said.

Earlier CFPA co-sponsored, and Executive Director Rev. Bob Moore spoke at a June 21 Rally at the State House in support of these bills, click link to see photos and a short report. Since then, the Law and Public Safety Committees of the NJ Assembly and NJ Senate have approved, but there has been no floor vote to pass them to be sent to Gov. Murphy for his signature yet.
