Please see CFPA's most recent Action Alert sent on January 18, 2023.

Dear Friend,

I'm writing to request your 2024 annual membership contribution to urgently intensify CFPA’s organizing in this critical election year

CFPA asks all members to renew, and others to join, early each year. The suggested annual membership dues remain at $80 for a household, or $50 for an individual. Receiving membership dues early each year helps with our budgeting and cash flow. So please renew or join NOW by clicking the button below.

At the end of January, we have to move our office. Therefore, I urge you to contribute your 2024 Membership ONLINE NOW! During this transition, we strongly urge renewing online rather than by postal mail, to ensure your membership is received. We face significant additional expenses to make this move, so if you can contribute more than the suggested amounts above, please do so!

We face unprecedented challenges in 2024 with two major hot wars underway; 2023 having been the hottest year in at least two hundred years; and an average of two mass shootings per day! Thankfully, I want to point to two pieces of good news that offer hope.

First, NJ Governor Phil Murphy and Attorney General Matt Platkin just announced that NJ hit a “record low” in gun deaths last year! They credited new gun violence prevention laws that target victims of gun violence, often in gang shootings in major cities, with interventions that persuade them to not retaliate with revenge shootings.

CFPA’s Ceasefire NJ Project was a key leader in passing laws to fund such interventions. I am proud of our sustained work since 2018 to pass over 20 new gun safety laws that are effectively protecting New Jersey residents from the scourge of gun violence! In 2024, we are already at work on a bill to mandate safe storage of guns in the home, to prevent suicides and accidental shootings.

Second, starting nearly 30 years ago, CFPA pioneered a highly effective Peace Voter (PV) campaign with proven results we continue to use to maximize our peacemaking impact on elections.

Already we are scheduling Candidate Briefings by CFPA experts and organizational leaders for the major party candidates in swing races in our region! We will follow that with Candidate Questionnaires and other research on positions. Then we will culminate the PV campaign by publishing Peace Voter Guides in targeted races.

To meet the above challenges and take full advantage of our proven approaches in 2024, I urgently request that you click the button below to contribute your 2024 Annual Membership ONLINE NOW!

We can only build on our successes and meet the great challenges in this 2024 election year if we each do our part, starting with contributing NOW as generously as possible.

Make your annual commitment to intensify CFPA’s peacemaking in this critical Election Year ONLINE TODAY!

P.S. Due to the move noted above, we won't postal mail our Membership Renewal notices to members until mid to late February. However, if you prefer to postal mail your membership, please mail your check payable to CFPA to the current address below right away, so it arrives before our move starting on January 30!

Sincerely,

The Rev. Robert Moore
